Back links and their sources

SEO is important, no doubt about that. Within the world of SEO, back links are vitally important. Why, you may ask. Back links are important because they increase your popularity with the search engines and that is exactly what you want.

However, that does not give you the freedom to create more inbound links that you have brain cells. Overdoing it is worse than not doing it at all in the search engines’ books.

Directories to direct

Directories do exactly what their name implies. They direct people your way. However, it is not that simple. You can opt for article directories or link directories. Article directories require you to submit articles to them that will have back links to your own website. Their readers will come across your article, read it and pass judgement on it. If your article offers good quality information that tickles their interest they will follow the link to your website. And voila, increased traffic.

However, if your article is not liked by the majority, you will get a distasteful reputation for poor content and your fate has been sealed. Link directories work similarly for your SEO. You submit your link to the directory which will then list your website accordingly. In both article and link directories you will find free options as well as paid for premium ones. The premium ones are usually better for increasing your traffic volumes and exposure significantly.

Trading and marketing

Marketing your website through back links from social media websites is a great idea. It increases your web presence in particular online social communities, all good for your SEO. There are many different social media websites to choose from and it is a good idea to use a combination instead of just one. Trading your links with someone else is also good for your SEO.

It is a mutually beneficial practice for both websites.  You will be trading your link with another website and they will give you theirs in return. The idea is that both websites will receive increased exposure from the other and this will increase traffic for both. It also increases both websites’ popularity with the search engines crawlers. Beware when linking  to any other website. Make sure their reputation and practices are clean and in good taste so that it adds to your credibility instead of detracting from it.

Blogging

The blogosphere is a very powerful entity on the internet. It can make or break websites and companies and it can help you create valuable and much needed back links as well. It can be very good for your SEO indeed. You can create your own blog and link to your own website through it. This is a good way of blogging for your own success.

You can also comment on the blogs of others in an effort to create good back links from those comments. You can also generate interest in your website by commenting on like minded blogs and getting the actual blogger interested in your website or your blog and so creating links.
