Following the search friendly design and on page optimisation of your website
one of the first things aspects of your SEO campaign should be getting your
web pages indexed. Search engines use spiders in order to crawl the web following
links from one page to another. The quicker your pages are indexed the sooner
they can start to gain the benefit of the rest of your SEO campaign and the
sooner you can start to generate search engine traffic.

Search Engine Submissions

Getting indexed by the search engines was once considered something of an
ordeal and the easiest methods included submitting your URL directly to the
search engines or getting listed in specific directories that the engines were
known to crawl on a regular basis. However, search engine spiders are much
more complex and there are now various other ways to assist a site in getting
indexed.

Sitemap Submissions

While submitting a URL to search engines is no longer a viable or speedy method
of getting indexed, and is therefore a pointless SEO exercise, it is possible
to submit sitemaps using the webmaster tools that are offered by search engines
like Google and Yahoo. As well as offering a quick and accessible method of
getting your pages into the search engine indexes, this also provides other
SEO advantages. A static, compliant sitemap can be easily navigated by search
engine spiders while they may otherwise struggle with flash or image based
navigation. You can also inform the search engines of updates to your site
such as new or deleted pages.

Gaining A Link From An Indexed Page

Search engines use links to help them navigate around the web and once a site
is indexed, spiders or bots will continue to periodically check the contents
of your website to look for new indexable documents. The more often you make
changes, the more frequently the bots will visit your site to check and this
same rule applies to every site on the web. As such, getting a good text based
link on a regularly updated and currently indexed website is another effective
method of getting your pages in the search engine indexes.

All Major Search Engines

While it is true that each search engine uses different rules and indexing
techniques, the principles are the same for each of them. For much of an SEO
campaign it is safe to assume that all the major search engines index pages
in this way and that getting links or submitting sitemaps will help ensure
that new pages are quickly and effectively indexed.

Getting Indexed For SEO

Most SEO tactics are geared towards ensuring that sites are indexed with Google
and, generally speaking, because they are typically the more difficult to get
indexed with it is safest to work towards this as being the ultimate indexing
goal. A single link from a page that has been indexed by all of the major search
engines will ensure that your own pages also get indexed in Yahoo, Ask, and
MSN as well as Google.

Link building is also very important method to index your site in search engine. You should try to add your site at already indexed site because bots crawl these sites from time to time so that your site can also crawl through that site.

SEO, a website is just useless and that’s why people are stressing more on SEO these days rather than designing and putting information in a website. In fact these days, people are designing their websites keeping in mind the SEO part.
