Getting extra links in the SERPs

Right this is another seo theory blog of getting extra links in the SERPs. A number of clients have asked me recently to get them these links see example below. Unfortunately these links are awarded by Google and isn’t some trick using Google web master tools or any thing like that but as always I’m happy to help my clients out with some educated guesses.

So after some investigation in my own time I might add here are some ideas first of a Yahoo directory list I have found than the majority but not all the site which have a yahoo directory list have these links. This has probably something to do with the authority yahoo directory is passing to the said site but this is an expensive gamble, but the yahoo directory also has other benefits which I will save for another blog. I have also found that a lot of sites that have a DMOZ directory listing also gain these links, once again… an authorities site. I read also that it has something to do with the correct site maps set up.

I will dispel this rumour as all the sites I work on have the correct sitemap’s and architecture and not all have these links. I have also found sites with a low PR which have these links. So all this lead me to conclude that it’s not the amount of links a site has or the PR of the site architecture but on more authority links. I will be monitoring this over the next few weeks and get back to you with any thing I find on my travels.
