Success With an SEO Campaign

Some website owners have large expectations when they knock on the door of an experienced and professional optimizer. Others may have smaller expectations, but one question remains, how do you know whether your optimization campaign has been successful? Well, there is only one way to find out; web analytics.

Web analytics will tell you all the ins and outs of your website’s performance. You can see how many people visit your website on a daily basis and what they do. You can see how long they stay and what percentage of visitors convert to sales for you. All of this is vitally important in your quest for an answer to your questions .

Traffic increases

When your traffic increases, it may be a positive sign that your campaign is working in your favour. Providing that the visitors to your website actually wanted to get there. This means that you need to be using the correct keywords. The success of your campaign will therefore also be measured in the conversion rate of visitors to your website.

However, an increase in traffic is generally a positive sign that your optimization campaign to draw more attention to your website is working in your favour. Now, while it may be tempting to expect a sudden jump in the number of visitors overnight, you need to maintain a sense of realism. Set realistic goals and expectations for your optimizer to meet.

Profit increase

If your search engine optimization tactics are working in your favour, you will not only enjoy an increase in traffic. If you are attracting the correct people to your website, you should enjoy an increase in revenue as well. Attracting people that are interested in what you have to offer equals an increase in the conversion rate of your visitors. This is just another way in which you can measure the success of your campaign. Again, it pays to be realistic and not jump the gun with your goals that you are working on with your optimizer.

Analytics and presentation

When you look at web analytics reports you may see Greek in front of you and that is completely normal. Unless you are an optimizer, these documents may look quite foreign to the average person and it is your optimizer’s job to present them to you in an understandable way. Your web analytics reports form a very important part of your optimizer’s job as they tell you exactly how well they are doing said job.

If you contract a search engine optimizer to deliver set results in a set amount of time and they do not deliver, it can be seen through the web analytics reports. This will be a clear indication for you to stick with the optimizer that you have or find a new one to take on your website’s optimization. You can never neglect to properly consult your website web analytics, they are an indication of whether your website is prospering or not, something that ultimately comes down to your responsibility.
