There is always going to be someone out there in the business world trying to cut corners, trying to make a quick buck and there are always going to be consumers who think that there is nothing wrong with it and that they can get away with it. Unfortunately most of the time those consumers do exactly that, they save money by doing something illegal, and they get away with it.

Fortunately, on the internet, systems are improving to such a degree that it is becoming harder and harder to hide the source of your SEO Programs. Yes they will always find new ways for making usable duplicates, but the faster they make copied software the faster businesses and authorities adapt. Those that do get caught, suffer consequences that they never expected, which had they know before taking the risk, they would have rethought their options.

There’s frowned upon, and then there is illegal

There are white and black hat SEO methods of achieving the desired results, although most Black Hat Methods are not illegal, they are frowned upon and sites using them are delisted or blocked completely by search engines. Using pirated software, in any form is illegal, and does have much greater consequences then merely having your website blocked.

Using a program illegally is just as serious as stealing, or making a soda drink, putting it in a red can and calling it Coca-Cola. It is illegal. It does have serious consequences. So why not go the legitimate route? The fact is that there is almost a 100% chance that there is an open source program that can do exactly what you require. So if the fact is you can’t afford the legal software option, than simply look around for an open source version of the software.

Legality is not the only problem

Besides the legality of things, there are millions of SEO Software packages out there that promise easy straight to the top results. Frankly, it’s impossible. It can not be done, unless tis being done the wrong way. If that is the case then the speed of your ascent is only going to be matched by the speed of your fall. 90% of the software packages are wastes of cyber space let alone actually useful in any measure. Those that are claiming 13000 visits a day, obviously don’t understand that quantity is no longer the desired result, quality is.

Using sneaky methods to get 13000 hits will only result in 13000 more people who are annoyed at your site and will not make the same mistake again. 50 legitimate hits, from users looking for your product or service are worth a million users that get tricked into clicking on your website. So be smart from the start, don’t look for a quick fix, don’t think miracles come in well presented web ads, and don’t buy illegal software. All will eventually catch up to you and end badly.

It’s true, many SEO programs out there that promise the moon can get you banned or just junk traffic you wouldn’t want anyway. I’ve seen people use article blasting software to create a couple thousand backlinks in a month, then they wonder how Google figured out they were gaming the system and got them too fast.
For the patient, it’s about the gradual building of quality links, especially with dofollow blogs that have articles with a pagerank 1 or higher. Quality comments that are relevant, funny, or both do the job. I don’t think it takes many tries with the black hat stuff before they get sick of receiving traffic from “Bubba’s Barrel O’ Links”. Some big names advocate this too, Felix Kelly aka The Rich Jerk even had in his book about using cloaking redirects.

The real threat with stolen software is it’s often loaded with a Trojan. The software that “cracks” or unprotects it itself does the same operation that a virus or Trojan would to circumvent the copy protection. Even if it doesn’t have one, it’ll usually set off your anti virus alarm bells. The new generation of Trojans can be pretty ruthless, just not worth the risk.
