With the rise of mobile devices and consoles now being able to successfully browse the internet, 2008 is going to turn out an interesting year for SEO.
Since the number of internet users is expected to increase from this by as much as 8% it’s going to prove vital that future sites are optimised and able to successfully render in future browsers.
Take the Nintendo Wii or Apple’s iPhone for example, with the addition of browsers to these devices they both offer a user the ability to search the web at their finger tips. Although both devices can browse the internet they also run different browser software, Apple’s iPhone for example runs off an advanced Safari browser where the Nintendo Wii runs on a stripped down version of Opera.
But it’s with these additions of internet capable devices that the importance of enabling your website to render and function the same throughout is apparent, now that fully supported browsing is no longer constricted to PC’s or laptops.
The ability to search the internet using your TV is an added bonus and appeals to everyone. Think of browsing a video sharing website and the ability to stream videos directly to your T.V. the possibilities are endless.
With the increase in users comes more potential sales and since the latest batch of devices offer this ability it won’t be long before the rest of the world follows suit.
