iGoogle for SEO’s, designers and everybody else.
This week I am going to give you a little insight into iGoogle, if you don’t already use iGoogle take some time out to give it a spin. It’s free and full of useful add-ons. You can easily integrate it into Firefox in terms of tools.
iGoogle gives you access to loads of great tools – the list is too big to mention, however, I’ve provided a run down here of the best:
Google Docs
Google Docs is just like having Word but online, it comes with file storage space and is an excellent tool for people on the move. It has a calendar with the same functionality as the Outlook calendar but slightly improved.
Google Notes
Google notes is a great tool for jotting down those those quick reminders, alerts and news sent to your email and retain to your select topics.
Google Reader
Google RSS reader is one of the industry’s most versatile RSS readers. Many web surfers prefer it over other services, and it has the capability to allow you to view selected feeds.
Now for the SEO’s and PPC guys there is:
Google Analytics
This is a godsend for all you SEO and PPC guys. You can monitor your website traffic, analyse every page, set goals to determine where people are leaving your site and much, much more.
Webmaster tools
Google Webmaster tools allow you to analyse your web site from a spiders point of view. I presume we have covered all the main ones for businesses above. If you don’t have an iGoogle account I’d suggest you get one today – but always remember tools don’t make the man – it’s the man behind the machine that matters. Or so said Chuck Yeager, the legendary American fighter pilot.
