Internet Marketing Campaigns
Many businesses are opting to use internet-marketing tools because they are fast, cheaper and more feasible considering that more people have access to the Internet. SEO considers how search engines work and what people are searching. It improves the amount of traffic from search engines search results to a website.
PPC on the other hand is a form of Internet advertising used on Search Engines, advertising networks and content websites. Here advertisers only pay when a user actually clicks to visit their website. Advertisers therefore will have to bid on a keyword that will potentially generate traffic. This form of Internet marketing is more cost efficient, as advertisers do not have to pay for appearing on websites, only for clicks.
Choosing Between SEO And PPC
Although most websites work best when PPC and SEO are combined some prefer the one to the other. When deciding on which marketing tool to implement it may be useful to consider the following:
Pay per click is more likely to get instant results and traffic is received much faster than in an SEO campaign. PPC advertising makes it easier to test different keywords and landing pages and one is able to stop a PPC ad at any time. Where keywords are concerned, one is able to bid on large amounts including misspellings and other variations not on your webpage.
However, PPC can be very expensive and bidding on the wrong keywords can be costly. Click fraud can also be problematic. Click Fraud is a type of Internet crime that occurs when a person, automated script, or computer program imitates a legitimate user of a web browser clicking on an ad with no interest in the link but rather to generate a charge per click. This is major disadvantages of PPC campaigns.
In terms of SEO, traffic generated through organic search engine results is free and after optimizing, money can be used to buy a tool to convert the traffic of your website. Although free, it could require a redesign of your web pages to make your website search engine friendly. SEO deliver Long-term Results but can be fairly time-consuming. Unlike PPC, a large amount of visitors and search result clickers is not a problem.
Adding PPC To SEO
The common objective of both PPC and SEO is to generate traffic to your website. It is advantageous to incorporate both campaigns simultaneously.
The biggest feature of SEO is keywords so you should ensure that your website fully contains your desired keyword. However, it could be that by the time you rank for them, they no longer bring in optimal traffic. A PPC campaign combined helps you select keywords and track ones that will potentially bring in Most Traffic through advertising. You are able to then focus on those keywords that work produced by the PPC campaign.
Together both campaigns enable you to save time and money and increase the success of your website bringing you greater returns.
