Any SEO website will bestow information regarding the benefits of good inbound
links. At least, any good SEO website will. A link is essentially the highest
privilege that one web page can offer another, completely independent website,
and this is how the search engines view them; as a vote from one page to another.

A Powerful Link Profile

Because search engines view links in this way, they collect information regarding
each link pointing to your pages. They then combine all the data in your link
profile and use it to help determine how well your page should perform within
the search engine results pages (SERPs). The better your link profile, and
the more relevant the links are to a particular keyword, the better your page
is likely to perform in the SERP.

A Good Link

A good link is one that is given by another page belong to a different site,
but on a theme that is similar or the same to your own. Also, the more highly
the search engine views the linking page, the more benefit you will gain from
that link.

More On Relevancy

Relevancy is a theme that continues throughout your link profile. When a page
links to your own page, it will usually use anchor text. This is the none code
element of a link that is viewable on a website. The use of anchor text that
is relevant to a particular keyword will again give your page greater benefit
than the use of an irrelevant or less relevant keyword.

Links And SEO

Links are one of the most important factors in search engine optimisation
because search engines hold them in particularly high esteem. A good profile
of relevant links from relevant pages will help to propel your pages to dizzying
heights within the search engine result pages.
