While there are no SEO industry standards concerning definitions for web analytics there are useful guides. A more comprehensive list may be obtained from either the Interactive Advertising Bureau or the Web Analytics Association, US.
• Page View
Is a request for a type of file that is defined as a page in the log analysis. Log analysis provides a single page view that is able to generate multiple hits as its resources are also requested from the web server. Resources can take the form of .css files .js files or images.
• Hit
Requesting a file from the web server. A single website consists of multiple files and each one can be counted as a hit when downloaded. The total number of hits or page views offers an accurate view on how popular a website is.

• First Visit or First Session

• Visitor, Unique Visitor or Unique User
Uniquely identified visitors that generate requests on the web server or viewing pages within a defined period of time. Each unique visitor is counted once during a time period. Identification is made via a cookie or IP Agent. Therefore the same visitor coming in from two different computers will count as two unique visitors.
• Repeat Visitor
Visitors who have made at least one prior visit
