Professional Business Communications Are The Soul Of SEO

SEO is about communication

Stands to reason that communiation should be the ‘soul’ of your SEO campaign, meaning you understand that communication is the concept you apply to your business and the command you have over it.

Soul can be defined in personal terms, usually, but can also be translated to how a business is run.  For example, the Oxford dictionary defines soul as pattern (of honesty etc).  It can also be defined as something which gives a distinctive character or the truest nature of a people or a nation.

Tapping into Business Communication

Tapping into business communication is about power, and how you command that power.  It means you understand the concept of communication and how it applies to your business.  The unspoken art of knowing, call it intuition if you will, is the tug which pulls you in a certain direction, a longing to go there, this is what makes your business successful.  Applying this tugging to your SEO campaign is no different than the traditional methods of communicating your business objectives, products and offerings.

The way business communicates itself has come a long way since the days when an advert in a shop window was enough to attract customers.  The world has passed through the industrial age as well as other global business models and we have arrived at a one on one connection, which due to the advent of the internet has resulted in us now being in the age of communication.

Even technology has soul

Computers, internet and technology are useless without human intervention, maintenance and programming.  What you put in is what you get out.  The internet reaches millions if not billions of people in a matter of seconds; SEO is a perfect example of this.  However, businesses still need to establish or maintain their core, and they way to do it is by communicating brand awareness, letting the unknown become known.

Creating your brand is what gives your business its soul and it is this that you want your consumer to see because they hold the power of choice and they want honesty, integrity and transparency in their business dealings.  They want to know who they are dealing with and if you are who say you are, and in order to satisfy their questions, you yourself need to know and the way to do this is to ask yourself questions.

How do consumers currently perceive your business as opposed to how you want them to and what is the span of difference between the two perceptions?  What will it take to close the gap?  Without communication it is impossible to gather this information.

Growing brand awareness incorporates marketing and advertising and those with soul will attract more of the market share than those who don’t, so it is imperative that a business has to ask their consumers what they think about their business, product or service.  It has become about more than money, a business has to have a soul and be able to communicate this to others, it is what drives a business to success.
