SEO And PPC – Going Hand In Hand

Internet Marketing Tools

Internet marketing helps many online businesses in various ways. It assists in the flow of traffic to a site and ultimately means that a website becomes more visible. Because the internet reaches millions, internet marketing is an effective way that guarantees returns.

The two prominent internet marketing tools include Search engine optimisation and Pay per Click or PPC. SEO mainly focuses on how search engines operate and the way a website can use it to increase traffic. It places a huge emphasis on ranking and regards it as important aspect.

PPC on the other hand is a magnificent advertising tool not only used on search engines but also content sites and other networks. By placing an ad on these platforms, the advertiser only pays per amount the internet user clicks onto that particular link to visit the website. Therefore, the more clicks on a link, the more the advertiser will have to pay.

PPC allows for ones site to be visible on another website and because you only pay per click, you do not pay to feature on that site. It is an effective form of advertising because even though you do not get high ranking through search engine optimisation, you will still be able to attract traffic through your adverts placed on other sites. This form of online advertising may be more expensive than search engine optimisation but is very feasible.

SEO Or PPC – Which One?

When it comes to deciding which marketing approach to use, there are different advantages and disadvantages to each. Pay per click is a quicker and much instant form of marketing. This means that you will see results in a shorter period of time. Although it shows faster results, it is also more costly. Because you pay per click you end up spending more.

The other problem with PPC is that there are a lot of cases of click fraud that occurs. This is an internet crime that should not be taken lightly. PPC is however more flexible and as you go along, you can test and change keywords. You are also able to stop the PPC campaign whenever you like.

SEO is a cheaper form of advertising. It yields good results and improves traffic amounts and quality to a site. In some cases, organic SEO can even be a free application. Unlike PPC, the more visits to a sight does not result in you paying more. The disadvantage of SEO is that it takes a longer to see results, but once results show, the effects are pretty long term.

PPC and SEO – Combining The Two

If you are unsure as to which internet marketing campaign to use, then why not combine the two. The thing that both tools have in common is that their main aim is to draw in traffic. Together both enable you to get the best of both worlds. Where one has a retarded effect, the other is faster and where one campaign is expensive, the other is affordable.
