Professional Search Engine Optimisation Advice For Long Term Solutions

Is it really that easy?

There are literally millions of results for searches asking for the best, most experienced, professional Search Engine Optimisation Advice. There are a lot of valuable, useful tips being shared out there, along with all the rubbish. With enough time and energy anyone with limited knowledge of the internet or computers can become very effective in this industry, along with the other thousands of self made experts out there. The problem is that it is very easy to know how to do something; actually being capable of doing it is a completely different scenario.

Doing the dirty work of Search Engine Optimisation takes skill and lots of work, reworking, testing, tweaking, reworking and again tweaking. Once that stage is complete, it’s all about maintenance, adapting and tweaking some more. SEO is not a simple task, it is not a one time fix and it takes years of practice to get it right, the right way, and maintain it continually.

This field is possible changing more then any other, it is like playing soccer where the goals are continually moving. The search engine are always updating their algorithms, always changing the weight of certain variable, so without changing your site, you may be on the first page one day and page three the next. It is a continual task. So first piece of advice is don’t think it can be done overnight.

Advice is free

Advice is free, the use of that advice is costly, so be careful what advice you follow. If it sounds too easy, and too simple, then it probably is. The get quick results mould of Search Engine Optimisation is often using shortcuts that are annoying to users and result in useless traffic and will eventually be caught out by the search engines. So in the end it’s a waste of time and money.

The simple aspects of Search Engine Optimisation are in fact easy to understand and easy to incorporate, but get more complicated depending on the environment (more competitive the environment the more effective your SEO needs to be). Age of a website does work against you, older and more reliable the better.

First steps

The first steps are clear and simple in statement. Design the website to be user friendly, informative, relevant. Then update that website frequently and maintain its relevancy. Next, design the website to incorporate what the search engines look for.

All major search engines tell you exactly what they are looking for. Register your site on all major search engine, upload site maps and tags etc. Links, these are important, but only if they are useful, relevant and informative. So try to build links, to and from your page.

If your page is good enough people will want to link to you and this is half the battle won. Online social communities have more weight then ever with regards to Search Engine Algorithms, so off site Search Engine Optimisation maintenance is important. These are the essentials to effective SEO, get this right and the rest is easier to get right.
