An SEO campaigns entails redesigning or rewriting a website in such a way that search engines can retrieve information from them easier and more accurately resulting in higher rankings in their searches. These services are offered by many professional consultants and companies specializing in Search Engine Optimization or offering it as part of a broader marketing package and can be very costly.

There is however some ways to increase rankings on search engines without using SEO and saving the funds associated with Search Engine Optimization Campaigns. Different search engines have different ways of indexing so it can be expected that results will vary.

Keywords and headlines

Probably the single most important way to better you ranking is to improve the Title of Your Homepage. This is easy to find, as it is the headline at the very top of the screen in the blue bar if you use windows. Most websites make this their company name but it would be ideal if you could include some keywords in this headline. Instead of simply ‘My Company’, change it to ‘My Company – Your wooden floor restoration specialist’.

Change the headline for every page on you website for optimum benefits, keeping it related to every page. Ask you website developer to make sure that the description and keywords in your ‘meta tags’ are comprehensive and accurate and update them if necessary.

The content of your site

Your website might be very well designed and look attractive to users, the problem is that search engines do not search graphics but only the content of your website. For this reason it is of great importance that the text on your website includes Keywords Related to your Business.
Rewrite the text on your website to include keywords that potential customers might use in searches. Be weary of including too much text to websites as customers often to not want to read too much and want to get the just of it in as few words as possible. It is important to keep the website aesthetically pleasing for visitors.

Search engines cannot read graphic text so it is very important that your website is written in basic HTML text. You can easily check by trying to select a word or sentence on your website, if you are unable to do this and a larger section is automatically selected then it is graphic text. Changing it to HTML is a relatively simple and inexpensive procedure.

Links to other relevant sites

Most search engines rate websites with links to other websites higher in their searches. Link relevant websites to yours and ask them to return the favor. This is a particularly great method because not only will it improve your ranking in searches but it will also invite a targeted audience from your linked sites to visit your website.

It is therefore two-fold in purpose and beneficial to both parties. It is not recommended to link websites of competitors but rather to look at relevant topical options. A floor restoration company could link the websites of roof or wall restoration companies.
