Search engine optimisation is seen as one of the cheapest internet marketing tools available. In general, internet advertising is more affordable than traditional advertising and in some cases is more effective. However, you will find internet marketing aids such PPC – pay per click and affiliate marketing that costs more than search engine optimisation. In some situations, SEO can even be a free tool.

Trying to find SEO that is well within your budget may be very easy, but it is not always guaranteed that such search engine optimisation will use honest techniques. There are a lot of people who promise number one ranking and other dodgy promises far out of their powers at a low price. There are more people offering black hat tricks and unacceptable SEO at a cheap rate than there are good wholesome SEO service providers offering their effective and trustworthy service at a reduced rate.

Luckily, these good Samaritans do exist and you can apply an SEO campaign that you can afford.
By relying on bad SEO providers on the other hand, you gain very little but the price you pay is your website either being banned or restricted.

Guidelines that could save you time and money

There are a few things you as a website owner should take note of before trusting anyone to apply an SEO campaign for you. These guidelines will hopefully save you money and prevent you from wasting time.

Research your SEO consultant carefully. Avoid those who promote an SEO campaign at a reduced rate when in actual fact plan on providing a low quality service. The only way you will be able to know whether a consultant will provide a bad service at a low cost is by asking enough questions. A company with nothing to hide will hide nothing. Enquire why the rate is so low and what you will be getting for the price. Also look at testimonials of previous customers and if possible ask the company about well known clients they have worked on before.

You need to be well aware of the procedure the SEO Company plans on offering. If it is black hat tricks that they plan on using on your site then say NO thank you. Black hat tricks are unacceptable in the world of SEO and although they show quicker results, in its entirety, it is a bad idea.

No matter how much the SEO costs, you need to have a report

Just because you pay a low price for your SEO campaign, does not mean that certain things should be excluded. A detailed report is one such thing that needs to be given to you by your SEO Company.

It is very useful to a client, especially is not familiar with SEO. This detailed report will tell you what the company has done and what the results thereof are. If the SEO Company is reluctant to give this information, then it may be wise not to use their service.
