How Much Will your SEO Campaign Cost You?
Filed under: SEO Management by Nick on December 3rd, 2008 @ 10:32 am
The majority of costs in implementing and running an SEO Campaign are related to time. Whether you employ the services of a specialised company or you employ in-house staff, then the SEO Costs for their time and expertise would be related into money. If you decide to do it yourself, you will need to take into account what your time costs you and whether you measure it in monetary terms or other factors.
If you decide to outsource your SEO Campaign, whoever you choose will need to assess what you want and then quote you for the initial set up as well as a monthly fee for their expertise and ongoing management. A reputable company should offer to design your SEO and Link Building Campaign around your needs and your budget.
Packages
A lot of companies offer different options when setting up an SEO Campaign. These options should take into account the clients website, where they are placed at that time and where they want to be in the future.
From this information they should be able to offer the client a strategy which is specifically tailored to their requirements. This ‘strategy’ should include initial set up costs and thereafter a monthly stipend, and it is not unusual for a client to pay anything from £300 and upwards per month.
Making the Decision to Optimise
Launching an SEO Campaign is something which be decided by yourself, or by a team within your company. Some questions to take into consideration would be the overall motivation for optimising and what you hope to achieve by it?
Do you want to generate more sales, do you want more traffic to your site or do you simply want more publicity? Another question is the time frame you allow this project and who will be responsible for running it. Will it be done by yourself, do you need to employ someone or will you outsource it?
Budgeting
Once you have decided that you want to go ahead with optimising your site, your need to compile a budget to go along with it. In order to quantify how much you are willing to spend on your campaign, you need to ask some questions. The list of questions is infinite but might include some of the following:-
• How often will you need to Add Content to your website?
• Is your site currently ranked or not? If it is currently ranked low where do you want to see it placed, and in what time frame?
• What will help your Rankings?
• Are your competitors using SEO techniques which are they helping them rake in more business than you? How important is it for you to track their progress?
• Do you need specific statistics which entails intricate software, or can you use something off the shelf?
• How important is link building to you?
• Do you have any internal resources who you can dedicate to your SEO campaign, or do you need to outsource the work?
