SEO is the perfect way to improve upon your Google and search engine rankings enabling companies to monitor rivalling competitors and keep ahead of the game.
The key to successful SEO is to identify keywords and phrases used most frequently by your company, ensuring these are featured prominently throughout the text content on your website. Re-evaluating this regularly will ensure web spiders will keep coming back to your website, ultimately helping you to climb up the Google and search engine rankings.
It would be of benefit to monitor the keywords and phrases also being used by your competitors to see how you can match and improve upon your web ranking in comparison to theirs. However, it must be noted that web rankings should be achieved graciously, as even a small amount of deception or ‘black hat’ methods (for example, overloading words and phrases) can result in heavy penalties and in some cases expensive lawsuits.
When beginning to implement the use of Search Engine Optimisation into your marketing activities remain aware that successful results and top spot rankings do not appear over-night. If you particularly want to gain the upper hand over your competitors a long term SEO strategy would be considered wise to implement and plan.
Ensuring you have a site map that is easy to navigate around will also increase your chances of obtaining great SEO. This also enables you to place and structure relevant words and phrases suited to your organisation. Here it must be remembered that images and sound are not a substitute for text content and the use of these will not enhance your chances of climbing up web rankings, in fact, it will hinder them as spiders consequently ignore these, discounting them as contributors to Search Engine Optimisation.
SEO does not only increase web rankings on search engines, it also provides an opportunity to increase your desired customer base, resulting in profit increases, building upon existing reputations and also potentially poaching business from the competition.
A few tips can be offered for monitoring your competitors SEO progress. Firstly, take a look at competitors currently ranking higher than you and acknowledge the words and phrases they are using on their websites, looking at their design and layout may also provide an insight into why they have a high online ranking. Could you apply any of their wisdom to your own website?
Aside from looking at the competition to enhance your own ideas, you may also choose to review gaps in the current market, generating ideas and concepts that have not yet been implemented by your competitors, this may help you to climb the search engine ladder.
In summary, the use of Search Engine Optimisation can greatly improve your chances of beating competitors not only in terms of search engine rankings but also increasing customer bases, thus resulting in greater profits and an improved reputation. When using SEO for this purpose it is desirable to be aware of where your competitors currently rank in comparison to your organisation and also of the key terms and phrases used on their website.

You have said everything correctly keeping in mind current scenario but what is your thought on the opinion that SEO will loss its importance in coming years.
This is a very valid question and one that has inspired debate all across the global. The fact of the matter is that we can only base our answers on opinion and what we may have heard on the “grapevine”. In my opinion there will always be time for seo in the forseable future. I base my thesis on the main reason why seo is on the market in the first place, to improve clients browsing experience, and because of this i will say it will still be important.
